A SURGE OF TRUE SPIRITUALITY

Eruch Jessawala

After 700 years the mind will again say, "Meher Baba warned us and since we are His lovers, we don't want to recognize any other Avatar or any other Advent." So even though He will be in their midst as Avatar at the time and says, "Come unto Me, I am the One come again in your midst," the followers and adherents of Meher Baba will say, "No, Baba told us not to go to any Master or anyone else."

They will behave in this manner because they will try to pay heed to the warning through the mind. But were they to keep their hearts open, He would enter and touch them and make them remember that He is the same One, and then they will be able to recognize Him.

Didn't the same thing happen to Christians in this ministry of Baba when He went to the West for the first time? He touched their hearts and immediately there was recognition that He was the One.

So when the heart is kept open, it's but natural for Him to enter. In His infinite Compassion, God comes to humanity time and again and when He comes to us, isn't it our duty to open our hearts and allow Him to be accepted therein? When we keep our hearts open, which is a safeguard against mistakes, true recognition will come but when we use only our mind, deception is bound to follow.

One more thing I would like all to know is that even if the heart is kept open to receive Him but the mind still hopes to gain something, then the mind will still replace the heart.

If the mind longs for miracles or wants to have advancement, or powers, or to be the leader of people, then there will be a fall. But if the heart is kept open and allowed to replace the mind with the feeling of just loving the Lord, there will be a surge of true spirituality that will enable Him to be recognized when He comes again in our midst.
