HOW CAN WE UNDERSTAND HIM?

 
You have heard me say so often, "Don't try to fathom Him, don't try to understand His ways, just remember and love Him." Why is this? Why should this be? Let us, for the moment, leave aside anything spiritual, let us forget about the mystical and just look at the practical side of it.

What is the Avatar? The Avatar is God in human form, the God-Man. So let us take the man side first. There are so many psychologies, so many different ideas as to why people act the way they do that it is impossible for anyone to say, "Yes, I understand it all."

We have people coming here who practice therapies we've never heard of. I say, "What is this?" And they say, "I'm a psychologist," and then they give some long title. And I say, "What's that?" and they explain that's the branch of psychology they practice.

It is all Greek to me. Now, don't misunderstand me, I am not saying that these therapies do not help. I am not talking about that at all, that's a completely different thing.

I am only saying that there are so many different psychologies today. And why? Because it is so impossible to fathom what makes a man act the way he does. So that every day it seems someone comes up with a new explanation, a new way of trying to understand man, and that is only man, mind you. We haven't even gotten to the God part of God-Man.

And Baba is both. He is the Lord of Lords, and He is Man amongst men. So how can we understand Him? We obviously cannot understand God, and we cannot understand man, so how can we expect to understand the One who is both, simultaneously? Clearly it is impossible.
