CUTE BILLY GOATDavid Fenster "The moment you placed your hand out, palm facing towards it," Meheru remembered, "it would raise its forelegs, come forward, and playfully butt your hand." The women thought of taking it to Baba's room, so they coaxed it up the back verandah by showing it some green vegetables. They brought the goat inside through the drawing room. Slowly, they opened the door to Baba's room, where he was talking with the mandali, and pushed the goat inside. Baba was so surprised. He saw that the goat was very tame and said, "Bring something for it to eat." "Baba loved to feed animals," Mehera noted, "and he fed the goat vegetables inside the house."
