ON MIRACLES

Meher Baba

Miracles may be broadly divided into two classes — Mojezas and Karamats. The miracles that are performed by Avatars or Prophets and Sadgurus may be called Mojezas, while those performed by Yogis or spiritually imperfect persons may be called Karamats.

The Mojezas spring from high and unselfish motives, while the Karamats are invariably performed out of selfishness. An Avatar performs miracles in order to give a general push to the world towards spirituality, while a Yogi performs them to serve his own ends.
