Symbols of the world's religions

Adi K. Irani

A word is the clothing of thought and thought is the exposition of experience. All that Meher Baba expressed through thoughts and words is the fragrance of His love and blessings. Whoever reads it is doubly blessed — by the understanding of what he reads and much more substantially by the sweetness of His love and the conviction of His strength.

When one enters a room full of roses, even if one's mind is so involved with other things that it doesn't become aware of the fragrance, still that fragrance is absorbed by one's senses. That aroma clings to one's garments, to one's person.

Likewise the benefit of Meher Baba's words, coming into the consciousness of man where there is no adequate appreciation or understanding, may not immediately manifest; but His words will dive deep into his being, enlightening him when he may least expect it.

As one becomes more acquainted with the familiarity, the feeling that what Meher Baba conveys is not new, but the expression of deep knowledge felt but never brought to one's consciousness before. The reason for this, my friend, is that Meher Baba is none other than your own real conscious Self, and His pronouncements are the manifestations of your own inner being.

Through His discourses Meher Baba is expressing the highest aspect of your own real being. These words are what your conscious self is expressing to your unconscious self to awaken you to your Real Self.

May His grace be upon you as you read Treasures from the Meher Baba Journals. May His words flower into your mind, reaching your heart to awaken the real treasure within your own being.
